Value Your Past.

Our March 2 reading (from Journey to the Heart by Melody Beattie) is called Value Your Past.

“When you look back at your past, look tenderly and gently at all you have been through. Look with the eyes of the soul. See that each experience was necessary to bring you home to your heart.”

Let’s sit with that for a moment.

Past is funny sometimes, isn’t it? Some of us have great things that instantly pop into our minds and memories we cherish. While some of us have negative things creep in or feel pain from something we are still healing. Regardless of positive or negative, all of it has value.

Take some time in your journal today and write about the first thing that popped into your mind when you read - value your past. Once completed, write down what good things have come from that experience. Do you feel any gratitude for the experience? If not that’s okay but check in with it. Dig a little deeper to find the gratitude…look from the eyes of your soul.

When we can sprinkle in gratitude, it’s pretty amazing how quickly we can shift the energy.

Deep breath in.

Now look back at how far you have come in life - all the things you have overcome. Even if you’re in the middle of something right now, you will get through it. And be better for it. Be tender with yourself.
