Fall Into Stillness…

This October, Jess and I have are offering a ‘fall into stillness’ series. A combination of yin & meditation that we would love you to be a part of. We want to build more than just a class you attend, but also a space you feel like you belong in. A community that welcomes you.

This class will be about 40-45 minutes of yin yoga. If you’re not familiar with Yin, it’s a slower moving yoga practice that holds the poses for a longer amount of time. This allows you to seep into the stretch and move at a pace that feels more comfortable. (perfect for all levels of experience) Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time, it helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

Research shows that the practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese/Taoist principles/philosophies that believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. Yin allows these stretches to open up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely. (There are so many benefits to this style of yoga)

Once you get into savasana (the final yoga pose where you a laying flat), you will be taken into a guided meditation to release and let go, to set intentions and turn inward. This will be for about 15-20mins. Allowing you to really connect with self.

Following the session, you will have time to journal and reflect on your experience and the practice of putting pen to paper also have numerous benefits for your mental health.
